Role of Advanced Cardiac Imaging in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Planning

چکیده
INTRODUCTION The fast development of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) would not have possible without the invaluable collaboration of multimodal cardiac imaging, particularly transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and computerized axial tomography (CT scan). Given the elevated morbimortality associated with severe aortic stenosis (AS) presenting high surgical risk, an adequate selection of TAVR candidates is of vital importance for the program ́s success. (1) This review describes the role of these techniques for the appropriate selection of candidates, vascular access route evaluation and procedure planning in patients with severe AS considered at high surgical risk.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: A Review Article
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a novel therapeutic intervention for the replacement of severely stenotic aortic valves in high-risk patients for standard surgical procedures. Since the initial PARTNER trial results, use of TAVR has been on the rise each year. New delivery methods and different valves have been developed and modified in order to promote the minimally invasive p...

Certain subsets of high-risk mitral valve patients are not suitable candidates for transcatheter therapies. The objective of this report is to present a young patient with combined mitral valve and coronary artery disease to illustrate these challenges. In this report, we present a 47-year-old man with longstanding HIV infection who was referred with severe mitral regurgitation (MR) and profound...

Although classic and standard procedure for patients with ascending Aorta aneurysm with Sever aortic Regurgitation is Bentall surgery but in some selected cases this complex surgery was not performed with different reason like advanced age and coexisting comorbidity involving renal and hepatic and lung Function. In our cases 75 years old man with chronic renal failure ( Cr= 3.2 ) who was known ...
متن کاملRole of CMR in TAVR.
Multimodality imaging plays a critical role in planning, performing, and evaluating transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has been underutilized in this patient population to date, but there is increasing evidence that it can offer equivalent or even superior information to more commonly used imaging modalities, such as echocardiography or comput...

Current evidence based on more than 8000 high-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis has demonstrated that transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a feasible alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement in selected patients. Despite current promising results on hemodynamic and clinical improvements, there are several unresolved safety issues, such as the frequency of vascular c...
